Partnership between Zimbabwe Republic Police and Harare municipality has managed to decrease the rate at which cholera was spreading in different areas especially in Budiriro.

Both partners have managed to chase away all illegal vendors operating without permission.

“As people in Budiriro, we are very happy with this operation because, these illegal vendors were selling cooked food in public and at school premises.

In this case young children would buy this contaminated food stuffs without proper thinking of the kind of water used to prepare the food”, said a concerned parent Mr Goredema. Upholding the principles put forth by the government as measures to curb the spread of cholera is of paramount importance.

Mai Richie said, “Today was arrested at my saloon because I did not have a bucket of water in which people are supposed to wash their hands before and after coming into my saloon. They took me to Glenview-Budiriro police station to pay fine as a way of amending my wrong-doing.”
